Pre 2

With a volume pedal for each amp, the Pre 2 is designed to emulate the guitar preamps of old which provided a subtle but useful colouration of the tone whilst allowing the full characteristics of the instrument played through it to bloom.

Organic Power

This power amp is designed to keep up with any live band, giving you a good compressed power tube overdrive when needed, without overwhelming the band. It is designed for the guitarist who loves anything from tangy chicken pickin’ to sparkling chime and anything from sweet harmonic overdrive to throaty roars.

Description

Each amp is hand tuned after production to compensate for component drift,  To get the amp to react like a hair trigger.

This system comes with the power amp in the 15 inch speaker cab loaded with an Eminence 1518, and has a separate 12 inch speaker cab loaded with an Eminence Reignmaker FDM Speaker, which allows you to attenuate the output by 9db

The Sound

Channel 1:

Set to a low gain, with the treble up high, put the bass where you like it and you have chimey, clean tones. Start to turn up the gain and the preamp will begin clipping just about the same time as the power amp, giving you a really nice balance of preamp and power amp distortion. This preamp has a classic cathode follower which exhibits asymetric clipping, where only one side of the wave form distorts giving an overdive with more note definition. As you turn the treble down the output actually goes up as you let more mids through.

Channel 2:

Slightly cleaner but with more total gain to push the power amp even harder. This preamp is very simple but really lets the details through. The tone control cuts bass and adds treble as you turn it up, so for one knob it’s pretty versatile.

The Effects Loops:

Having the preamp on the floor allows for much easier use of the effects loop. You only need short cables to be able to run pedals on the loop. As each amp has a switchable effects loop you can run stereo effects in true stereo, or you can run it as a wet/dry rig, you can the use the volume pedal of one amp to blend the effects mix in real time.

The Sound

This amp will do almost any vintage tone, it really excels at reproducing that vintage sag that so many modern reproductions fail to do. The controls also provide you with a great amount of versatility.

Green

With the treble on full and in dynamic mode, you have a very chimey organic sound that is crispy when overdriven. Send more signal into it and you have to dial back the treble, leaving you with a harmonically rich wild overdrive. Flick the dynamic off and everything tightens up and the clean sound becomes more spanky.

Brown

With the dynamic switch disengaged, you have use of the presence control, this makes the amp very 1959 bm, with all the associated tones. When engaged there is a subtle move towards a British version of the aforementioned.
